Migraine management in adolescents

Migraine is a chronic condition that often begins in childhood. Clinical experience tells us that triptans are effective and well tolerated in the treatment of adolescents; however, clinical trials to date have failed to show significant efficacy against placebo. This is due to specific characterisitics of migraine in children and adolescents and may be overcome with adaptations to clinical trial design. Migraine management in women

Migraine is three times more common in adult women than men. In addition, changes in headache patterns coincide with fluctuations in female sex hormones. Migraine associated with the menstrual cycle has been considered difficult-to-treat. Results from new clinical trials with 'Zomig' show that headache relief is achieved within 30 minutes of treatment and headache recurrence is low. Migraine in primary care
